Yes, we offer a variety of web hosting plans suited for indivuals, web designers, groups, and small- to medium-sized businesses. Resource limits and features vary from plan to plan, but they all come with powerful online administration tools that make hosting your site with us easy.


Do your plans include technical support?

Yes, all of our plans have technical support included. We offer 24/7 tech support via email only.


Why don't you offer accounts with "unlimited" features?

Offering "unlimited" features is irresponsible and results in increased rates of abuse and problems. Many websites today load slowly not because of the connection, but because the web servers hosting them are overloaded due to excessive numbers of processes created by "unlimited" features. We keep our web servers loaded within realistic limits, resulting in a higher level of performance and stability for our clients.


Can I change my hosting plan? Can I upgrade/downgrade?

You can change your plan by contacting us at support@8sol.com or by calling us at 770.335.4593. We are glad to accommodate your needs and do not charge additional fees for upgrades.


Can I buy extra disk space, data transfer, or other features?

Yes. Additional disk space, data transfer, domains, and IP numbers are all available.


Do you offer SSL certificates?

We provide all of our clients a free shared certificate to use for their accounts. Additionally, we resell Geotrust SSL certificates at a significant discount.


Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?

We place no restrictions on your access to your server other than the restriction as defined by your plan. You can always log into your web-based administration tools to check on your web site and account from anywhere on the internet.



Do you offer web-based administration tools?

Yes! We make it easy to manage your account and web site with our online tools. Our web-based control panel offers an amazing amount of features.


When does my account become active?

Web hosting accounts are ready anywhere from 30 minutes to 12 hours after your order is processed. Domain name server updates generally take between 12 and 48 hours.



Can I have multiple accounts with 8Sol?

Certainly! We do not enforce any limits on the number of accounts that you may have with us.



Do I have to FTP to upload my site?

No, you can also use the file manager found in your web-based control panel. It allows you to upload files, edit them, and much more.

Do all my accounts get a control panel?

Yes. However, add-on and parked domains share the control panel of their parent site.


Can I administer my MySQL database with a web-based GUI?

Yes. We provide phpMyAdmin and keep it up to date for you at no extra charge. In addition, our control panel makes it easy for you to add and edit your databases, edit users, and assign rights to databases.



Can I get web-based e-mail?

Yes. All e-mail accounts can be checked using any standard web browser. With our convenient web-based e-mail interface, you can create folders, customize rules, set up your personal calendar, organize meetings, filter for spam and viruses, and much more.



Do I get web site statistics that I can use to analyze my web traffic?

Yes. Checking and analyzing your site traffic is easy with Webalizer, Analog stats, and much more. In addition to site stats, our control panel tells you how much disk space and data transfer you are using.


What happens if I exceed my allotted amount of bandwidth per month?

If your site exceeds its allotted amount of bandwidth per month, it will default to a "site suspended" page. But don't worry: our system will e-mail you when you reach 80% of your transfer limit, so you have plenty of time to act or decide what to do.


Where do I monitor my bandwidth usage?

You can keep track of your usage from within your control panel, which keeps a running tally of your alloted, used, and remaining amount of data transfer.


How do I keep my site from being shut down for going over its bandwidth limit?

Use your control panel to keep a close eye on the bandwidth you've used, and upgrade or purchase new bandwidth as applicable to your plan.


What are the 'start' and 'end' dates for bandwidth calculation?

Bandwidth calculation begins and ends at the beginning and end of each calendar month. Bandwidth usage statistics are updated once per day.


How can I tell where my traffic is coming from?

Our site statistics programs show you many aspects of your site traffic in detail, including where your traffic is coming from.


What is leeching and how do I prevent it?

Leeching (or "hotlinking") is the sneaky process of loading images from someone else's web site in order to save on bandwidth. To help prevent this from happening to our clients, we provide every account with a useful tool in our control panel. Don't let others steal the data transfer that you pay for!


Do my FTP and e-mail activity count towards my total bandwidth?

Do I get FTP access to my site? Can I upload my files at any time?

Yes, all of our plans come with at least one FTP account. Uploading of files can be done at any time, without restriction.


Can I have different FTP accounts for subdirectories within my site?

Yes, this feature is available on all of our hosting plans.


Do you support anonymous FTP?

Yes. Set up your own annonymous FTP folder and you choose your own message! Each of our hosting accounts comes with the ability to have its own anonymous FTP site.
